THE BRIEF
Founded by Dr. Julia B. Lindsey, Aligned Literacy represents her latest mission to improve literacy education across North America. Partnering together once again, Julia's goal was to build a brand larger than her personal footprint—a collective that could house the work of other industry experts. We set out to design Aligned Literacy as an extension of her original personal brand. The objective was clear: create an identity that felt entirely unique, while keeping a thread of visual continuity tied back to the Julia B. Lindsey brand.

Distinctly Valuable and Accessible
This isn’t a teacher influencer brand. The Aligned Literacy brand was designed to feel practical, established, and deeply teacher-friendly. This balance was achieved by creating a logo suite that is both memorable and timeless. The clean, intentional logomark seamlessly merges the brand’s initials, A and L, into a singular, iconic design.

Designing with Alignment in Mind
With a business name centred around alignment, it was imperative that the visual identity embodied this core characteristic. For the logo typography, it was a strategic design decision to use all caps to present a wordmark that was perfectly uniform and aligned on all sides.

Same Brand Colours, New Roles
The colour palette had already proven successful with this audience under the Julia B. Lindsey parent brand. We knew the easiest way to visually connect the two brands would be through colour. Equipped with a palette that was already WCAG compliant, we assigned the colours fresh roles and guidelines for Aligned Literacy, giving this sister brand its own distinct colour story.

Enhancing the Digital Brand Experience
With the Aligned Literacy brand leaning more into the virtual realm, the visual identity needed to drive an engaging online experience. We infused more personality and functionality through a curated typography suite, all while continuing to prioritize web accessibility where it matters most. To round out the digital experience, we created custom graphics with distinct functional roles, adding a layer of character, charm, and experiential continuity across every screen.
