ABOUT DR. JULIA B. LINDSEY
Dr. Julia B. Lindsey is a literacy consultant and published author. She's driven by a mission to support leaders to empower readers—a tagline we came up with for her new brand identity. Julia's expertise as a literacy consultant was puting her in demand across the United States and Canada. She knew it was time to retire her DIY logo and rebrand her image to represent the highly sought after professional she was. Together, we created a brand experience that reflects her personality, is designed to resonate with educators and school district leaders, and simplifies the creative output of the many resources and presentations her role as a literacy consultant requires.
Julia has made a name for herself in the literacy field, as so it made sense to rebrand as a personal brand. We gave her brand identity versatility with a handful of logo designs that were just her name, giving her signature name graphics. Keeping the brand design style simple and graphic, we used a simple circle shape to emphasize the initial in her name and connecting the personal brand design to the very letters that are so foundational to her work and field of expertise. This graphic design style was carried through with simple supporting visual shapes, inspired by stickers given to students, to be used as brand patterns and icons.
It was important for Julia that we designed her brand identity to meet accessibility standards online. Throughout the brand development journey, we tested brand colour combinations and made sure the brand guidelines associated with her brand prioritized these standards. While limiting our design ability in some capacity, this thoughtfulness ensures everyone would have the equal opportunity to connect with her brand and her services. A prime example of the dedication she has to empower readers.
